The DooDah Parade began in Pasadena, Calif., as a response to the staid, rule-laden Rose Bowl Parade. Residents were disenchanted with the pomp and circumstance and with the crowds and inconvenience. Then someone came up with the idea of a DooDah Parade where residents could have fun and let off some steam. The almost-anything-goes atmosphere has made the DooDah Parade another huge attraction for Pasadena.

Naturally, folks around the nation have been copying Pasadena’s success. And Lexington is no exception. So, instead of renting a float or spending beaucoup bucks to make one, use your imagination and whatever you have handy in the way of props and costumes.

DooDah Parades are the perfect way for companies to gain recognition for their products and services while having a good time. Drill teams are very popular. Imagine the plumbing company that showed up at one parade and performed a precision performance with plumber’s friends. If your company manufactures a product, use it in your performance. If you have no product, just use your creative genius to come up with a wild and crazy idea.

Service organizations, school clubs and fraternal societies are also invited to participate. Personal competitions are permissible. If your group would like to challenge another, please let us know.

The DooDah Parade and FunFest will attract thousands of visitors to Lexington. Don’t miss this opportunity to put on a show and gain recognition for your company or organization. Enter the Lexington DooDah Parade today!!
